World Health Organisation FRAX Fracture Risk Calculator The FRAX tool has been developed by the WHO to evaluate the fracture risk of patients. It is based on individual patient models that integrate the risks associated with clinical risk factors as well as bone mineral density (BMD) at the femoral neck. The FRAX models have been developed from studying population-based cohorts from Europe, North America, Asia and Australia.
Garvan Institute Fracture Risk Calculator The Garvan Fracture Risk Calculator was developed using data collected in the Dubbo Osteoporosis Epidemiology Study. The study, which began in 1989, includes more than 2,500 men and women aged 60 years or more from the Australian regional city of Dubbo in New South Wales. The longest running study of its kind in the world, it has contributed major changes to our understanding of osteoporosis in women and men, including risk of fracture, impact on quality of life, and even survival.
